The March Full Moon is traditionally known as the Worm Moon — named for the time when the soil begins to soften, earthworms reappear, and the first signs of spring emerge beneath the surface.
This kind of awakening is subtle.
Gradual.
Tender.
Much like healing.
The Worm Moon reminds us that growth doesn’t arrive all at once. It begins underground — in stillness, in quiet places unseen.
After the introspective months of winter, this full moon invites us into a slow return to life. Not through force or urgency, but through gentle warming, patient unfolding, and embodied awareness.
This month, my time building Embodied Health in the small alcove at 2446 Manatee Ave came to a close. I painted over my signature archway, turned in the keys, and stepped fully into our new home in the Village of the Arts, Bradenton.
The past two years have been a season of slow, intentional healing and growth. Not linear growth— more like a fluctuating spiral. A period of questioning, softening, and remembering. There were so many moments when I wondered if sharing and teaching yoga was still my calling after the painful and difficult closing of my chapter at Heartwood.
Each time I felt ready to step away — convinced someone else might be better suited, more deserving — someone would reach out. Asking if I had another teacher training beginning. Wondering if I could help with chronic illness. Seeking support during a difficult chapter.
And each time, I was gently reminded why I began this work in the first place.
My two years spent in the smallness of my hidden office was a necessary part of my journey forward, and this full moon, the Worm moon which honors the slow emergence after the darkness of winter, is yet another symbol of how important it is for us to be patient with ourselves when we are healing.

The Nervous System and Seasonal Transition
Seasonal change affects more than our mood — it influences our nervous system, energy levels, and emotional landscape.
Winter, much like loss and pain, often encourages contraction: quieter days and inward reflection. When we experience grief, uncertainty, or prolonged stress, our systems naturally pull inward to protect us and energy turns toward survival.
And just like winter, these seasons of the heart are not meant to be rushed.
As daylight increases and temperatures slowly shift, the nervous system begins to reorient toward expansion. This transition can feel refreshing — or deeply vulnerable — especially for those carrying chronic stress, trauma, fatigue, or unresolved loss.
The Worm Moon offers us a moment to meet this transition consciously.
Rather than rushing forward, we are invited to slow down and listen.
To breathe.
To feel.
To allow.
We naturally are designed to seek therapeutic spaces where healing unfolds gently — through movement, sound, touch, and presence. Spaces that don’t push the body to perform, but rather support it in remembering how to soften, regulate, and trust again.
Through gentle movement, sound healing, and intentional rest, we can create space for the nervous system to recalibrate — releasing what has been held and welcoming what feels nourishing, steady, and aligned.
A Practice of Gentle Emergence
Healing is not linear. Growth doesn’t always look productive.
Sometimes it looks like resting.
Sometimes it looks like tears.
Sometimes it looks like simply noticing your breath for the first time in a while.
Emergence doesn’t mean bypassing pain — it means allowing yourself to move through it, slowly, with support.
Under this Full Moon, we invite you into a practice of gentle emergence:
• Moving slowly and mindfully
• Allowing sound to wash through the body
• Letting the nervous system settle into safety
• Creating space for reflection and renewal
Just as the earth doesn’t rush its awakening, neither do we.
This is a time to honor where you are — not where you think you should be.
And just like the worm, you are allowed to take your time.
………
If you feel called to experience this gentle emergence in community, you’re warmly invited to join us for Full Moon Yoga + Sound Bath on March 3rd, held outdoors under the night sky. We’ll move slowly, rest deeply, and allow sound and presence to support whatever is ready to soften or shift.
All levels are welcome. Space is limited.
